Dear German genealogists - looking for help in Germany

14 gru 2016, 23:11

Hi everybody,
I direct my question to every genealogist in Germany. I am looking for some information about archives and information resources in Germany.

My greatgreatgrandpa during the I WW left his family in Poland and went to Germany. I don't know exactly when was it or where he went. Probably he was working as a bricklayer and he had an accident at work. He died. Nobody knows where he died and where his grave is.

So my question is: are there any information sources, any archives, webpages, lists of workers or accidents where I can find my greatgreatgrandpa?

Regards,
Gosia

Hello Gosia,

a very big search you find here:

http://meta.genealogy.net/

On the top you read "Nachname", there you must write the familyname. Then you must go on "Suche starten", that means: start the searching.

Which name are you searching? Do you know, when and where he was born?

In Germany nearly every town has own archives!

Best regards,
Emma
