Passport, ID ?

27 sie 2020, 13:15

Hi everybody,

I have question : Before the restauration of Poland (more exactly, in year 1915) if a Polish (who lived at Poznan) wanted to go for a trip at Berlin, did he need a kind of passeport (or another special ID card)? Or was it unusefull due to the fact that he came from a part of the German empire ?

Than you for your help.

M H :)

I wonder that I don't see any response to your question since so much of time.
Recently I saw the response of the person competent of here, that within the Prussian Empire,
comprising then also the Poznan region,no passport was needed for travelling to Berlin.
Of course any presence of any citizen in a particular location was accurately registered
by the local administration and the citizens were provided with respective papers confirming
this fact.
Hoping this to be of your service,
I remain with best regards.
